Take the C-13 to the crossroads of the dam La Torrassa and from there the LV-5004 to the village of Espot.

In summer you can reach the parking at the entrance of the National Park of Aigüestortes and the lake of Sant Maurici (Prats de Pierró) by car. From here one can go on foot as far as l'Estany de Sant Maurici on a well-indicated path ("La ruta de l'isard", 1 h.) and from Sant Maurici as far as Amitges, continue on a track also well-indicated (1.45h.). You can also use de taxi service to take you as far as Maurici, l'estany de Ratera, or the refuge itself.

At the heart of winter , you cannot reach the parking by car because part of the road is covered by ice and snow. It can be very dangerous: inform yourself before trying it. It is better to leave the car in Espot.

Públic transports

From Lleida or Barcelona by the coaches Alsina Graells as far as the dam of La Torrassa (C-13), between the villages of Escaló and La Guingueta. Here is the turning to Espot (8 Km.). From Espot to the National Park entrance there are 4 Kms.

From the coach bus stop to Espot and to the National Park entrance there is no regular public transport. Therefore if you do not take a taxi you will have to walk or hitch hike.
